Sitting for the Exam

FMCA is a fully approved Health and Wellness Coach Training and Education Program by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBWHC)

To be eligible to sit for the board exam, you must complete all FMCA graduation requirements and meet the NBHWC registration criteria.  We recommend that you sit for the board exam within two years of graduation.

Why would a certified health coach consider sitting for the board exam?

The NBHWC is the industry standard for health coach board certification. As the exam represents the profession's highest standard, many employers require NBHWC board certification as a hiring condition.

Additionally, insurance billing codes are being developed for health coaching. Only board-certified health coaches and the providers who hire them will be eligible for reimbursement.

All inquiries about taking the exam should be directed to info@nbhwc.org. For more information on NBHWC and the Health and Wellness Coach (HWC) certification exam, please visit NBHWC's website at nbhwc.org.
