Functional Medicine is New in My Country

We understand that pursuing an FMCA Health Coaching Certification is a significant time and financial commitment for all of our students. For those international students worried that a health coaching credential is not yet widely recognized in their country, we understand the concern. We recommend you consider the following questions:

  • Is this an investment you're making in yourself first and foremost? The FMCA program is a transformative experience.
  • Is your passion for health and Functional Medicine strong enough to be a pioneer in your country?

We understand this can be a complex decision and we welcome your inquiries to our admissions team at admissions@functionalmedicinecoaching.org.

Functional Medicine Health Coaching is on the Rise

The health coaching industry is on the rise and is now forecasted to be a $7 billion service market, according to Marketdata LLC. There are an estimated 128,000 health coaches and health educators already in the workforce, advising and motivating clients to make lasting lifestyle and behavioral changes.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, in the U.S. alone, chronic diseases account for nearly 75 percent of aggregate healthcare spending or an estimated $5300 per person annually.

More than two-thirds of all deaths are caused by one or more of these five chronic diseases: heart disease, cancer, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and diabetes.

While U.S. data may not be an exact match for what you see in your home country, this is not an anomaly either. We are seeing a surge in demand for health coaching around the world.
